ISO 22000: 2018 version has the following changes different from the 2005 version.

  • ISO 22000 includes the same system in order to provide convenience for organizations that use more than one management system and want to integrate management systems. The standard offers a different approach to understanding risk in its final version,
  • PUKO (PDCA) cycle: The standard describes the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle by running two different cycles together. One cycle covers HACCP principles and other management systems,
  • Critical Control Point (KKN) in the standard is presented with a more explicit definition in the form of Pre-Requirement Program (ÖGP).

The 3-year transition period of the old ISO 22000: 2015 standard started in June 2018 and is valid until June 2021,
